We welcome you to come to
Buckley Hall Inn and just relax! But, there are
many places of interest nearby; as well as lots of
activities and events which you may want to attend.
You can ride a bike to the
beach, observe the over 200 documented species of birds
in the Bethel Beach Nature Sanctuary, or see the New
Point Comfort Light House ~ the third oldest on
Chesapeake Bay. If boating is your interest, canoeing
and kayaking are just minutes away. Offshore fishing or
sightseeing trips to Bay locations are available nearby.
Take
a tour of Mathews on a bike. Touring maps are available
at the inn.
For history buffs, check out nearby Virginia’s famous
historic plantations, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown
and Yorktown. Within Mathews County, Gwynn’s Island is
the site where the last British Governor, Lord Earl
Murray, of Dunmore, was chased off the coast.
